Week 13 Base Pick Points: 94
Season Base Pick Points: 1109
Week 13 was a crazy week as almost half (7 out of 16) of the games were upsets. The 2 most shocking games of them all being the Dallas Cowboys Thursday Night Football upset against the hailed New Orleans Saints team and the Arizona Cardinals upset against the crumbling Green Bay Packers. It was a great week for the Money Picks as 3 out of the 4 were correct. Luckily two of the upsets that we did not pick were base picks 1 and 3, helping to reduce the damage done to your total points.

CPP Money Pick Analysis:
(8-4) Chicago Bears vs (11-1) Los Angeles Rams:
The Bears in this game are reliant on QB Mitchell Trubisky’s return to the field which is reported to be likely. The Bears have had one of the top defenses all year and it will need to be on point in order to slow down the Los Angeles Rams offense who averages 35 points per game. Despite that the Rams have allowed above average opponents to stay close in games due to being one of the 10 worst defenses in terms of yards allowed per play. If their defense can create some turnovers and Trubisky is truly healthy, the Bears may be able stay close enough in this game to topple the Rams.
(3-9) New York Jets @ (4-8) Buffalo Bills:
The New York Jets will be facing the inconsistent Buffalo Bills team this week while on the road. The Jets are on a 6 game losing streak after losing starting rookie QB Sam Darnold 4 week ago, but they are expected to get him back for this game. The Jets almost beat the Tennessee Titans last week after holding a 16 point lead in the 2nd quarter but for the rest of the game only scored 6 versus the Titans 26. The Buffalo Bills nearly beat the Miami Dolphins last week until former Dolphins and Bills current TE Charles Clay dropped a wide open pass in the endzone while counting down the last minute of the game. In order to win the Jets will need to regain some offensive production with Darnold back and shut down Bills QB Josh Allen’s RUN production. Josh Allen has impressively amassed 224 yards on the ground in his first 2 weeks back from injury giving the Bills some extra juice to their offense.
(6-6) Indianapolis Colts @ (9-3) Houston Texans:
The Indianapolis Colts will need to turn around their offensive production this week against another tough defense after putting up a whopping 0 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. The good news is that the last time these teams met, the Colts put up 34 points while only rushing for 30 yards between 3 running backs, none of which are the starting running back now. Although they’ll have some extra help at running back, the Texans are one of the best run defense teams in the league and are still on a 9 game winning streak. This game will not be a walk in the park for the resilient Texans team and has great value with the Colts only being picked 7% of the time.
(2-10) San Francisco vs (6-6) Denver Broncos:
The 49ers have not been able to score much since their franchise QB Jimmy Garoppolo was injured early in the season. They have seemed to have gone down hill as the season has progressed and now will face the Denver Broncos who has gotten better as the year went on. The Broncos have won 3 straight, two of those games being against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos strong run game continued last week as they put up over 200 yards rushing on the ground, 50 yards more than their passing game did which is always a surprise in the modern football era. This area of the game will be where the 49ers need to excel as they are a better run defense team than passing and they will need to stop the run in order to get their offense on the field more during the game. The 49ers will need to do that and after losing starting RB Matt Breida to injury will need to pass the ball efficiently this week in order to win.
(7-5) Baltimore Ravens @ (10-2) Kansas City Chiefs:
The Kansas City Chiefs released star RB Kareem Hunt 2 weeks ago after video of his recent assault on a woman was released. This has depleted the Chiefs offensive ability as new starting RB Spencer Ware could only run for 47 yards with 14 carries against the Oakland Raiders who rank 27th in rushing yards allowed per attempt. The Chiefs also didn’t run away from the Raiders game either as they only lost The Baltimore Ravens caught the Chiefs at the right time as they have one of the best defenses but wouldn’t have likely held up against the old Chief’s offensive pressure. The Ravens upset the Falcons last week after their run game with rookie QB Lamar Jackson continued to be a main production piece which should continue to happen with Chiefs being the 2nd worst team in the league in run production allowed. A tough crowd to play against with the Chiefs big home field advantage but a strong defensive game by the Ravens and a great game from Lamar Jackson will allow them to beat the Chiefs. They also have great value with only 4% of people picking them.
